The sport of standup paddle board river surfing is what I’d call a niche of a niche sport. While SUP is now commonplace in both oceans and lakes, there are few people who have transitioned into paddling whitewater, and fewer who have taken up SUP river surfing seriously. We are a unique breed, but I think our sport will only continue to grow from here.

While our sport is still a niche sport, there are a good number of us. Some of us write about the sport, but none of us write with any consistent cadence. The content found on SUP for the Soul has mostly been written by myself. However I am looking to expand it to everyone with a passion for SUP river surfing and a willingness to write!

If we band together we can create a single site where new content appears multiple times per week. A place where people will be happy to return to on a daily basis to see what’s new in the sport of SUP river surfing. A place where all the content will be focused on what we love: standing river waves and standup paddle boards.
